SUPER: THE FINE ART OF COMICS

Yesterday I forgot to mention that this Saturday (post FCBD) is the opening of SUPER: The Fine Art of Comics, an art gallery show here in Charlotte. I'm lucky enough to have a few pieces up, and Chris has submitted some art from our book LOOSE ENDS. The show runs till HEROES CON. So if you're coming in, or happen to be around, make sure you pop in.

Here's a piece I submitted (From my 24-7 Volume 2 story) Clicky, clicky:

This being the art blog, I should share art. I never posted the final version of that Fantastic Mr. Fox piece, so here it is:

SUR-FIN BYRRRRRDD!

SUR-FIN' BYYYRRRDDDD

A little strip I did for B. Clay Moore's upcoming GIANT SIZED HAWAIIAN DICK. In the book Byrd is a notorious land lubber, drinker and hater of sunshine. Much like his writer.

I now have the Ramones stuck in my head. More soon...

Surfa Rosa

A little work in progress of a one page strip I'm going to try to do for a friend. Still lots to figure out and fix here...

It looks like I'm going to be floating around C2E2 in Chicago this weekend. It's kind of a spur of the moment trip but I'll be heading up with Shelton Drum and the good folks from Heroes Aren't Hard to Find. They'll be set up there selling all your comics needs, and that's probably the most reliable way to find me if you were happening to look for me.

I'll have some sketchbooks with me for sale and I'm likely not too averse to adding a con sketch or two to my list. See you there!

CHEWEDBACKER

CHEWEDBACKER

I don't think this technically qualifies as irony. But it's a curious turn of events for the ol' Chewie keychain.

Seeing IS believing

I realized yesterday that if I can hammer this last script I'm working on into something I'm happy with then most of the coming year's work is likely set.

That likely includes the Noir project OGN (art chores) LOOSE ENDS (writing), a mind bogglingly exciting 1-issue fill in gig (art again) & hopefully this "new" project (all of the above)---

Plus a little wiggle room for the unforeseen.

Wish me luck. I'll need it. More soon....
