DREDDED rejection.

The cover that likely won't come to pass. Someone up the chain at 2000 AD thought it was "all a bit pumped-up Frank Miller style" and didn't fit what they wanted to do. In any event it's a real shame because I REALLY wanted to do this cover, but I'm still flattered I was asked . Maybe I'll finish it for the sketchbook this year.

  2. Thanks, Dec. I'm not happy but I'm not angry. It happens to everyone I guess. I just really wanted to do it.

  3. Sorry to hear that it's not what they're going for. But I'm not gonna lie, part of me thinks they're crazy. I think this is awesome!

  4. To gritty for 2000 AD. Maybe resubmit with Dredd holding a bunny, rainbows shooting out of his ass whilst riding a pink unicorn?

  7. Tharg has lost his punk pretensions and settled into a sedate middle-age it seems.
A shame as I miss the gleeful rawness of the old-school 2000AD.
    A fine cover. My sympathies.
